Author Description Dr. Kai Herbertz was born in Düsseldorf, Germany in 1977. He is a scientist, writer and game designer. After completing a Diplom (German equivalent of a Masters) in electrical and electronics engineering at the RWTH Aachen and earning his PhD in electrical and electronics engineering at Imperial College London, he is currently working as a researcher for the Fraunhofer Society, which is most famous for inventing the MP3 audio compression algorithm.<br /><br />In March 2015 he completed writing a medieval fantasy novel called “Age of Torridan.” The book was released in August 2015.<br /><br />He is the co-creator of the commercially successful PC game “XPLOSIVE” from 1995. The twenty year anniversary marks Dr. Herbertz’s return to the realm of game design.
