Author Description Jessie Lynn McMains (aka Rust Belt Jessie) is a writer, zine-maker, artist, spoken word performer, small press owner, editor, and teacher of workshops.<br /><br />They have been self-publishing their work in zines and chapbooks since the mid-‘90s. They currently write the ongoing zine series <i>Reckless Chants</i>, as well as producing the occasional one-shot zine. They have been performing spoken word across the U.S. and Canada since 1998. They were the recipient of the 2019 Hal Prize for poetry, and have been nominated multiple times for both Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize. They were the 2015-2017 Poet Laureate of Racine, Wisconsin, and the July-December 2021 Racine Writer-in-Residence. They're the owner/editor of Bone & Ink Press. They also teach workshops on memoir, journaling, poetry, and zine-making.
